POR QUE ME BATES? UM ESTUDO SOBRE VIOLÊNCIA CONTRA AS MULHERES NA REGIÃO SUDESTE DO PARANÁ (1950-1970)

Abstract

This dissertation sought to analyze, historically, the practices of violence against women in the Southeast of Paraná, between the 1950s and 1970s, in the Counties of Irati and Teixeira Soares. The heuristic phase (survey of sources) was carried out with the CEDOC/I with the criminal processes of the referred ones, being this the main source of this study. With the analysis of criminal processes, and with the support of studies by authors, who have already deepened their knowledge on such themes, which address the History of Women, Gender, Gender Violence, it was possible to analyze and historicize history and violence against women in this region. As well as understanding the violence practiced against their bodies, also considered as a symbolic place. Therefore, carrying out such a study, under such perspectives that determine violence and gender relations, in Irati and Teixeira Soares, was very important, as it presented quantitative results, in which physical violence was the most recorded by women. It also made it possible to carry out a qualitative study, where it was possible to perceive aspects of people's daily lives, and the lives of these women who suffered violence in this temporality. From which they originated, mainly, from the gender relations that determined the spaces, in these localities, marked by violence. Therefore, from the document analysis, it was possible to carry out, in a quantitative and qualitative way, the analysis of this study. They also made it possible to compare how crimes of violence were diversified between one region and another. The comparison in this study served, not only to note the quantitative data collected on the forms of violence against women, from the places that were hit by the coups in Irati and Teixeira Soares, but also to compare cultural and symbolic issues that each locality had, although those were so close. For a more systematic analysis, such as the collection of personal data, the victim, the aggressor, the topographical survey of the violence under their bodies, only the cases of crimes of physical violence were selected, especially the cases where there was “Rape, Bodily Injury and Homicide”. Through these, and through the qualitative analysis of the series, it was possible to understand and perceive the reasons for gender violence, by men against women in Irati and Teixeira Soares, in that period, and why they suffered such furies, such punishments and aggressions in that period. society.
