Conhecimento tradicional sobre a influência da Lua nas atividades agrícolas: práticas e rotinas de produtores da região de Guarapuava – PR

Abstract

The demand for agroecological agriculture, which aims at the survival of future generations through the sustainability of the production means, brings up the need to seek a greater balance between agroecosystems, in other words, between the environment and human intervention. To this end, one of the ways to try to reduce the environmental damage, especially arising from the latest Agricultural Revolutions, is by rescuing the traditional knowledge of the people, which could contribute to science for sustainable development. In this aspect, one of the most widespread knowledge among communities around the world is that the different phases of the moon influence earth events. Therefore, this work was carried out in order to obtain information on the use of knowledge about the influence of lunar phases in the field routine activities by farmers of the Guarapuava –PR region. Through interviews with 100 farmers in fifteen municipalities in the region, data were collected on the existence, transmission and use of such knowledge. As a result, it was found that 100% of respondents believe that the lunar phases influence some activity such as planting, logging, fishing or animal husbandry. In addition, in at least 94% of the properties visited, observing moon phases guides day-to-day practices through instructions passed down orally through generations.
