Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the nutrient uptake and dry matter
(DM) yield in ryegrass cultivar BARjumbo up to 150 days after emergence (DAE). The
experiment was conducted under green house conditions from the autumn until the
spring of 2018. A completely randomized design with five replicates was used, with
treatments consisting of 15 different evaluation periods (10; 20; 30; 40; 50; 60; 70; 80;
90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140 and 150 DAE). The ryegrass plants were cultivated in pots
containing 10 kg of soil, with each pot representing an experimental plot. The
experiment presented a total of 75 experimental plots. The plant height, tiller number,
leaf area index (LAI),DM yield and contents and accumulations of N, P and K in shoot
and root DM were evaluated. The plant height increased linearly, while for the tiller
number, the highest value was 110 DAE. IAF was strongly increased between 30 and
100 DAE. DM yield was increased during all evaluation periods (between 10 and 150
DAE). The highest rates of DM yield increase occurred between 50 and 60 DAE. The N
and P contents in shoot DM decreased according to plant age. For the K content, the
values began to decrease only from 100 DAE. There were increases in N, P and K
accumulations in shoot up to 120 DAE. From this date, the values decreased up to 150
DAE. Higher rates in increments of nutrient accumulations in shoot coincided with the
times of higher rate of DM yield increase. The decreasing order of nutrient
accumulation in the shoot was K> N> P, whereas in the root the order of accumulation
was N> K> P.

Abstract: One of the major costs of a potato crop is its seed-tubers. The production of potato seeds
through Aeroponics can reduce that cost. The goal of this work was to build and improve an
experimental Aeroponic system for the production of potato seed-tubers and to evaluate the
effect of planting density, aspersion regimes, cultivars and the dormancy of tubers obtained
from this system. The first experimental Aeroponic system was built from February to March
of 2018, aiming to evaluate the ideal plant density of cv. Ágata in the autumn season in
Aeroponics. There is an increase on the yield of cv. Ágata to the increment of plant density up to 180 plants m-2, due to better light interception and allocation of photassimilates. The seedtubers from this experiment were allocated in a BOD chamber at 23° C in absence of light, aiming to understand the effect of the picking date and planting density in Aeroponics, on the dormancy of seed-tubers. It was concluded that the dormancy of seed-tubers varies in
response to picking dates, but does not vary in response to planting densities, so that early
harvested tubers have a longer dormancy period than those harvested later. The second
experimental Aeroponic system was built from August to November of 2018, aiming to
evaluate the effect of different aspersion regimes on cultivars Ágata and Atlantic. Four
aspersion regimes were evaluated: 30 seconds of aspersion with 10-minute intervals; 30
seconds of aspersion with 3-minute intervals; 3 minutes of aspersion with 10-minute intervals; 3 minutes of aspersion with 3-minute intervals. The experiment was held in a randomized block design, in a split plot scheme with three repetitions. ‘Ágata’ had 57% higher multiplication rate and 27% lower average tuber mass than ‘Atlantic’. There was no
difference among aspersion regimes, making the one with the lowest water usage (30 seconds and 10 minute intervals) more suited for the aeroponic system. It was concluded that the increase of plant density up to 180 plants m-2 increases the yield of cv. Ágata in the autumn crop, that the minitubers of late pickings have a shorter dormancy period, that different cultivars need different management practices, and that the shorter aspersion regime is more adequate for cultivation in this system.

Abstract: With the increasing development of the strawberry crop in Brazil in the last years and
the dependence on cultivars imported for cultivation, the cost of crop production is
increasingly increasing, thus reducing farmers' profits. The search for national cultivars
adapted to the climatic conditions has been an alternative for strawberry production in
Brazil. One of the main obstacles in breeding programs is the difficulty of germination
of achenes, which present tegument dormancy and natural germination of 10 to 20%.
Thus the objectives of this work were 1 °: to test plant regulators in the dormancy
dormancy and the development of strawberry seedlings; 2 °: to obtain and select F1
plants, which present productive potential equal to or higher than the currently planted
imported cultivars. The chemical puncture with H2SO4 (98%) for 15 min and the use of

resulted in 916 high potential hybrids, among which the RVCA16R-39, RVFS07R-61,
RVCS44R-143 and RVCS44R- 110 have high productive potential and can be used in
new adaptability and stability tests to be launched in the future.

Abstract: To evaluate the influence of sowing season on the agronomic characteristics of
promising and commercial breeding barley genotypes in two agricultural crops in the
city of Guarapuava, PR. The experimental design was a randomized block design with
three replications, in a factorial scheme (12x2x2), 12 genotypes evaluated, with
potential for malting production in two sowing seasons and two agricultural crops.
Among the genotypes evaluated, these were divided into two groups, one composed of
6 promising genotypes from the breeding program, which involves, besides FAPA,
Embrapa PFC and Ambev (GP1, GP2, GP3, GP4, GP5 and GP6) and six commercial
barley genotypes (BRS 195, BRS BRAU, ANAG 01, ANA 02, Danielle, Irina), both
with characteristics for malt production and the sowing times evaluated were: season 1
(30/06) and season 2 (16/07). The experiment was developed during the agricultural
crops of 2017 (Safra 1) and 2018 (Safra 2) in the experimental area of the Agrarian
Agricultural Research Foundation - FAPA, Entre Rios, in the municipality of
Guarapuava, PR, under no-tillage system. The following agronomic characteristics were
evaluated: number of tillers (NP); number of grains per ear (NGE) and grain yield
(PROD), these in each experimental plot and in both sowing times and agricultural
crops. Subsequently, the means were submitted to individual and joint analysis of
variance and grouped by the Scott-Knott test, at 5% probability. The agronomic
characteristics of the number of grains per spike and grain yield were influenced by the
sowing season, the crop season and the brewing barley genotypes evaluated, being the
season 1 (June 30) with better results. The NP was positively influenced by the crop
season being higher in Harvest 2 (2018), which is dependent on the promising
commercial genotype evaluated. The promising genotypes GP1 and GP6 were
distinguished by obtaining grain yield similar to the commercial cultivars ANA 02 and
Irina, at the sowing times and agricultural crops evaluated.
