Abstract: The present work presents aspects of Mathematical Modelling in Mathematics Education, capable of being an alternative to the teaching and learning processes of Mathematics in the scope of Basic Education of Basic Education. The focus of our research focused on the following question: What elements of Mathematical Modelling, in the conception of Mathematics Education, are constituted in the teaching and learning processes of Elementary School students? The general objective is to establish Modelling as a teaching and learning methodology of Mathematics, based on the analysis of the elements provided by the actions and interactions of the students and teacher, in the development of Modelling activities. From the general objective we delimit the specific objectives: to identify and to analyze pedagogical, psychological and behavioral aspects perceived in the students when involved in the activities of Mathematical Modelling. Also observe to what extent the teacher's attitude favors learning involving Mathematical Modelling. For the fulfillment of the question and objectives this research is conceived in the qualitative/interpretive perspective, with a design from the perspective of Lüdke and André (1986). The treatment of the data follows the perspective of Bogdan and Biklen (1994). In this outline we intend to understand, from the collected data, from the point of view of the teacher, the possibility of the teacher researching the teaching process, and from the perspective of the students, actions and procedures able to favor the learning of the mathematical contents and learning of other fields of knowledge, since they may indicate ways and strategies and suggest questions that benefit the student to take an active role in the construction of their knowledge, previously treated in a Cartesian and traditional way. The results of this research point out that Mathematical Modelling, from the perspective assumed, allows for the capacity to develop autonomy resulting from the action of thinking, reflecting, searching for data, raising and finding solutions to the problems provided by data collection, in relation to the chosen theme. The interaction between the participants, teachers and students, has proved to be a potentiating element in the development of activities and learning, both in mathematical content and in other non-mathematical aspects related to the development of a theme, providing the development of actions that critical and reflective thinking of students.

Abstract: This work relates the application of a Unit of Teaching Potentially Significant for the teaching of the concept of Photosynthesis in two 6º-year classes of a state public school in the city of Cantagalo (PR), in 2016. This Teaching Unit was elaborated with base in the presuppositions of Significant Learning Theory. The instruments used to collect data were: the activities performed by the students, application of pre and post-test in two 6ºyear classes using simulators. For the analysis of the data, was adopted a qualitative in which the semi-qualitative scale was used and the numbers refer to the addition of the "crosses" obtained from the Likert scale. The methodological referential adopted in this study, was the qualitative approach, and the most recent exploratory and interpretative results. The analysis of the activities and the evaluation questionnaire of learning showed an increasing process of acquisition of knowledge by the students worked in the Teaching Unit. The results obtained in the post-test of evaluation of instructional resources indicated that the use of experiments, videos and computer simulations contributed to arouse the interest students for content approached in the Teaching Unit. In this way, the results demonstrated that the Unit of Teaching Potentially Significant elaborated with base on the presuppositions of the Significant Learning Theory to introduce the concepts of photosynthesis contributed to create a motivating and stimulating environment for the student. The concepts worked in the Teaching Unit allowed students to expand their previous knowledge dynamically, without compromising the consistency of scientific phenomena in between the pedagogical instruments.

Abstract: The hermits are decapod crustaceans that occupy shells as protection for their decalcified abdomen. The distribution and survival of these animals is determined by the availability of shells in the environment. Thus, the occupation of gastropod mollusc shells by different species of hermitages, on the beach of La Sepultura, Bombinhas, SC, was investigated in the present study. The species of hermits and the shells that each one occupied were identified, as well as the percentages of the types of shells that were occupied and the morphometric relationships between the crustaceans and shells, from four collections over a year. The individuals were identified and classified into males, females, ovigerous and intersex females, weighed (WW= wet weight) and measured in relation to the length (SL) and width (SW) of the cephalothoracic shield. The shells were identified, measured in relation to the width of the aperture (SAW), length of the aperture (SAL) and dry weight (DW). An interaction network between hermit species and shells was elaborated. A total of 1,328 hermits were collected from the species: Pagurus bravidactylus (1,021), Pagurus criniticornis (243), Dardanus insignis (19), Calcinus tibicen (18), Paguristes tortugae (15) and Clibanarius antillensis (12). The hermitages occupied shells of 26 species of gastropod molluscs. Cerithium atratum and Morula nodulosa were the most commonly used by P. brevidactylus and P. criniticornis. Dardanus insignis occupied Astralium latispina. Pisania pusio was the species most occupied by C. tibicen. Paguristes tortugae frequently inhabited Leucozonia nassa. Clibanarius antillensis were found occupying C. atratum. The coefficients of determination (r2) varied between the species of hermits and the occupied shells, which is an important indication that different species occupied shells appropriate to their size. The network of interaction between the hermits and the occupied shells, was generalist. The high number of species of shells used and the relative plasticity in the pattern of selection of shells by the individuals indicated that the occupation is influenced by the availability of shells and better corporal adequation of the hermits.

Abstract: Estimates of heritability can be obtained by several methods. However, in insects, the crossenvironment is the best approach, and it involves the regression of the phenotypic values of the females collected in nature against the means of F1 offspring obtained in the laboratory from these females of nature. Three species of Drosophila were studied in the present work, D. maculifrons, D. mediopunctata and D. willistoni. The first two are phylogenetically related, belonging to the subgenus Drosophila and occurring in forest fragments of the Atlantic Forest. The third species belongs to another subgenus (Sophophora) and shows broader occurrence, being found in both forests and anthropized environments. Thus, the objective of this work was to quantify the morphological variation of the wing and to estimate the heritability of its morphology in D. maculifrons, D. mediopunctata and D. willistoni, collected at Fazenda Santa Cecilia in Cajuru-SP (CAJ), Parque Natural Municipal das Araucárias em Guarapuava-PR (PMA), and Morro Santana in Porto Alegre-RS (POA), aiming to use these parameters to understand aspects related to the morphological evolution of this marker in these species. Most of the variance found was due to size, with different patterns among species, which may be a result of the species characteristics and environments. Regarding shape, the changes occurred mainly in the distal portion of anterior region of the wing of all species. The values of the heritability estimates obtained varied between 3% and 90% for the size, and excepting the negative estimate for PC3 of D. maculifrons in CAJ, varied between 11% and 88% for shape, not showing a clear pattern. These results may be due to environmental factors that directly affect the amount of variation in nature and/or because of genotype and environment interaction. Finally, the relatively high estimates of shape heritability obtained in the two populations of D. maculifrons may be related to the cohesion pattern of the interpopulational morphological variation detected for this species.
